The descriptions of the vessels
are by Paul J. Katrich
"Approaching Storm"
Vessel 1122 (7-3/4").
"Rhythmic and active vase in midnight black and
iridescent gold. Touches of mocha and sky blue complete
the effect of roiling clouds in full motion.
The interior is a metallic copper."
"East River Sunrise"
Vessel 1123 (11-1/4").
"Black glaze, the color of India ink, flows
through iridescent ruby red, emerald greens and
a "sky" of turquoise and slate blue. The interior
is a deep, lustrous violet.
"This piece was a difficult technical achievement,
and sports seven distinct glazes working in concert."
Vessel 1145 (11-1/2").
"A significant and substantial vessel.
Volcanic blues, emerald greens and molten silvers
overflow on marbleized indigo. Suggestive of
ocean depths and fantastic landforms, this
piece has broad appeal."
Vessel 1145 (11-1/2"): $1,700. [Sold]
